In this blog we will explore Mark Haddon's, the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime, by posting discussion questions, responding to classmates' comments, and researching interesting topics further. Guidelines: 1. All language must be academic and school appropriate. 2. Avoid digression as much as possible; be sure your line of discussion relates the novel and expands the class's knowledge or exploration in an obviously meaningful way. 3. CITE SOURCES
In all honesty if i were to be handed this book and not been told that the main character has Asperger's, i would have never thought he'd have a disorder.I would have just assumed that he likes order, he's very intelligent and his behavior is sometimes immature.I think many people in the world can be like this without having a disorder.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what normal is. When describing the physical qualities as someone you can easily say whats normal. For example its normal to have two eyes, its normal to ear glasses, its normal to have two legs, two arms, five fingers one each hand etc. However it is abnormal to be born with a heart outside the chest, its abnormal to be missing an upper lip. Characteristics and traits tend to be difficult to classify as abnormal or normal. It all depends on how we're raised and what is commonly done or seen. In spanish countries its normal to kiss familiar or unfamiliar people on the cheek when first meeting them. You don't see much of that in some places so that maybe abnormal. I think I've made my point.
